With no regular interface with translation industry, the translation clients many times find it cumbersome to deal in with the vocabulary used by such industries. For communicating, the dilemma arises, whom to select first- An account manager, project manager or the translator.

The sales agent of the translation company, it’s the account manager who comes in contact with the client at first. Occupied with the task of managing the accounts for the company, along with providing in valuable advice to their clients and briefing up project managers regarding the clients requirements is all what account manager does.

The project manager is equipped with the task of briefing up the details regarding translation work to its clients. The main part of briefing in includes briefing up the client regarding the time requirements for completing in the task.

It depends upon  factors like number of steps required  to translate the content along with editing Determining the final cost of the translation project is the task entrusted on the project manager.

The basic difference of tasks performed by accounts manager and project managers is that the former caters to the need of the clients, while latter sees into the translation resources.

After determining in the cost of the project, the project manager forwards the same to accounts manager who in return forwards to the final consumer i.e. client. The duties performed by the both are equally important and it necessitates that proper communication exists between the both. 

Getting a nod from the client, the time peeps to start up the project. The task of project manager starts right here, as he starts arranging in for team of translators, editors, specialists and all the other parties needed to accomplish the task.

The translator and the editor are the core persons at this stage. With same goal of accomplishing the translation tasks, there still exists a huge difference between their jobs.It’s the translator who comes into the scene first by working on original piece of text and translating the same in the required language as per the requirement of the client.

It’s the editor who checks on the vocabulary used, style of writing, the grammar used by the translator for translating the text.

For removing any chances of further errors the text so translated and edited is checked upon once again to provide in perfection to the clients.Thus for achieving higher levels of accuracy reviewing is done by a third party, who focuses on grammar, punctuation used.
